Pimp out your Meditation Practice

Pimp out Your Meditation Practice

Most modern gals like to accessorise these days to enhance their look and creature comforts in life, so why not accessories your meditation practice to enhance that too. It may even deepen your practice. Today I share my modern day pimp outs that make practicing meditation a little easier at times, especially when you sit on a plane next to an oversize giant who is a little smelly, half sprawled onto your seat and who’s breath is as heavy as a Japanese team of sumo wrestlers (yep, it happened to me), and these pimp outs were a godsend!! That’s why I couldn’t wait to share them with you.

Remember that in reality all you really need is your breath and mind to meditate.

But… in cases like I described above, why not add a little extra love to the equation.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones.

These are amazing! They cancel out all ambient noise, letting you focus on the guided meditations or your breath, rather than the craziness of the outside world.

Create a Meditation Playlist on your phones.

Create a playlist of guided meditations. Whilst sometimes I enjoy sitting in stillness and simply focusing only on my breath, I find it easier to meditate when my mind is racing by listening to a guided meditation. This gives my mind something to focus on and come back to during the meditation. There are many different types and styles of guided meditation and there really isn’t a right or wrong, simply choose what resonates with you.

Quality Essential Oils such as Young Living Essential Oils

The careful use of Young living Essential Oils  oils during meditation can enhance the experience by grounding you and promoting a sense of calm. Essential oils can be diffused in a quality diffuser or applied topically when mixed with a carrier oil. The oil chosen comes down to the individual user and what they feel will enhance their practice.

Some essential oils are know to promote a feeling of being grounded, some act like a sedative creating a relaxed feeling and some oils are said to enhance spiritual connection to the divine. For example Frankincense has been used in many traditions in different rituals for thousands of years to help enhance spiritual connection.

Some of my personal favourites are Young Livings Lavender, Balance, Harmony, Peace and Calming, Frankincense, Cedarwood, Clary Sage and  Bergamot.
